It’s an honest and direct style that reflects the bands’ true identity, from classic hardcore like AGNOSTIC FRONT, SICK OF IT ALL and GORILLA BISCUITS - to post hardcore like QUICKSAND and BURN - to diverse indie bands like BLACK 47 and WORLD INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY. MIXING AND MASTERING WORLD BANDS "DFS has a long history working with punk, hardcore, and post-hardcore bands from around the world. Bands from Japan, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Greece, Poland, Argentina, Australia, Guatemala, Chile, Switzerland, Singapore, and Turkey have all recorded, mixed, or mastered projects with DFS. But most bands around the world can’t afford to travel to New York to record at DFS - so mixing and mastering at DFS is a good way to finish a record in NEW YORK STYLE. Working with bands around the world is really cool, and no project is too small - singles, EPs, Comps, or LPs - so if you think Mixing and Mastering at DFS is a good idea for your band, let us know. LIVE 2 TRACK RECORDING "The DFS LIVE 2 TRACK session is exactly what it sounds like - your band sound checks and then plays live in the studio. The whole session usually takes about 3 hours - costs about 100 bucks, and you walk out with studio quality recordings on CDR. The session is especially designed for bands from Albany, Troy, Saratoga, Schenectady, the Capital Region and upstate New York. It’s a great way to get a good recording done fast and cheap. You can record as many takes as you want - and keep the best versions. We mix right to the 2 track deck, so once you’ve recorded, you’re pretty much done. This session is set up for bands with one or two guitars - we can’t do huge lineups. It’s a great way to record new material for Bandcamp or Youtube, or when you don’t have the cash for a full multitrack session.
